K9 Nose Work® - Continuing (All Levels)

Class & Course Details

Continuing is a mixed-level, dog-driven class that supports dogs searching for food, toys, and trained odour (including Birch and beyond). Completion of Foundations is a prerequisite for Continuing. Foundations ensures that dogs and handlers share the same core skills and language, allowing Continuing sessions to remain calm, dog-led, and supportive for everyone. Dogs work together in the same session while each search is adapted to the individual team. This allows: - newer teams to build confidence at their own pace - experienced teams to deepen skills and decision-making - dogs to learn without comparison or pressure Continuing runs in 6-week modules to provide structure and rhythm, but attendance is flexible. Many teams use a class pack and attend when they can — it’s always okay to miss weeks or return after a break. Each module explores different search concepts such as: - being allowed to decide relevance - working through environmental background odour - access, airflow, and problem-solving - adapting search skills to new environments There is no requirement to “move up a level” — Continuing is where long-term skill development happens.
